Protec Physiotherapy & Acupuncture Clinic now offers a range of complimentary healthcare therapies from within the Caernarfon practice. The following therapies listed below are available from an accredited professional registered with the Federation of Holistic Therapies.

Reflexology: Based on ancient Chinese pressure therapies, Reflexology works on reflex points on the feet which correspond to different areas of the body. The aim of a reflexology treatment is to help restore balance to the body naturally to encourage relaxation and to improve well-being.

Indian Head Massage:  A therapy which originates from Ayurveda, an ancient method  which takes into account mind, body and spirit. An Indian Head Massage works specifically on the area surrounding the head, scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper back.

Aromatherapy Massage: Aromatherapists regularly use up to 50 essential oils, each having different therapeutic properties. An aromatherapy massage combines a therapeutic massage with the benefit of relaxing and uplifting fragrances to help improve physical and emotional well-being.

Hopi Ear Candles: Ear candling is a gentle, soothing and relaxing practice that has been used for centuries in many cultures. Hopi candles can be used for many conditions including reduced hearing caused by excess wax, congested sinuses, irritation in the ears, ringing or noises in the ears, tinnitus, rhinitis, glue ear, colds, flu, headaches and migraines. 

Reiki: Meaning ‘universal life energy’, Reiki was founded in  in the late 19th century. It works on the principle that energy, also known as  ‘chi’, flows through the body via energy centres called ‘chakras’. A balanced flow of energy is said to provide a sense of well-being and spiritual renewal. Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle treatment of the whole body or specific body parts depending where imbalances lie.

Japanese Facial Massage: Known as a natural face lift, Japanese Facial Massage focuses on the manipulation of facial meridians and acupressure points to enable vital energy to be equally distributed to promote and maintain good health and wellbeing. The treatment includes neck and shoulder massage, detailed face massage, acupressure and lymphatic drainage.

Kinesiology Allergy Testing: Kinesiology blends the technique of muscle testing with principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to assess body function and energy. Kinesiology may be used to detect allergies and sensitivities to a variety of substances including foods, dustmites, pollens, vaccinations and many medications. When exposed to an allergen, the muscle will weaken to indicate an allergy.

Thai Massage: A relaxing, deep tissue massage and stretching treatment, carried out through your clothes. Thai massage is influenced by the traditional medicine systems of India, China, and Southeast Asia, as well as by yoga.

Foot Care: Routine care of common conditions of the feet including nails, treatment of verrucas, corns, hard skin and callous.
